Kimmie Rhodes To Facilitate Workshops & Perform Live At ASG Songwriter Symposium

Singer-Songwriter Kimmie RhodesKimmie Rhodes’ songs have been recorded by such steller acts as Willie Nelson, Emmylou Harris,Wynonna Judd, Trisha Yearwood, Amy Grant, CeCe Winans, Joe Ely, John Farnham, Waylon Jennings and Peter Frampton, among others. Kimmie co-wrote a song, ”Lines,” with Waylon for his Justice release “Right For The Time.” Kimmie’s movie soundtrack credits include “A Heart That’s True,” for the “Babe: A Pig in the City” CD. “I’m Not An Angel,” featured in the soundtrack of “Mrs. Winterbourne” starring Shirley MacLaine and Ricki Lake, and a song in the “Daddy’s Dyin’ Who’s Got the Will” soundtrack. Her song, “Shine All Your Light,” co-written with Beth Nielson Chapman, was recorded by Amy Grant for the Touched By An Angel TV series soundtrack and CD, which reached the Top Ten in Billboard’s CD charts. She recently co-wrote “Ordinary Heart,” with Emmylou Harris and the song was featured in the soundtrack to the movie, “Happy Texas.” Emmylou’s performance of the song was nominated for a Grammy. Kimmie’s new CD, “Walls Fall Down” recorded with an international cast of musicians, was released in Spring 2008 on her independent label, Sunbird. From February through April, Kimmie embarked on a 20-date tour of Great Britain and Europe.

This is Kimmie's fifth turn as an ASG Instructor. This year she will be busy all weekend leading classes in performance ("Acting For Singers, Singing For Actors"), how to turn your music into a business ("Can You Draw This Dog?"), as well as co-facilitating an afternoon long workshop on Saturday for children, along with Lynda Jones and Stephen Doster. Additionally, she will be performing throughout the weekend in songwriter in the round concerts with Gary Nicholson and Sonny Throckmorton, among others.
