Starting February 2009, the Austin Songwriters Group is hosting a Singer-Songwriter Challenge for its members at the Mockingbird Cafe (located at the ASG office at 3105 Manchaca Rd). There will be twenty slots available for singer/songwriters (to perform two songs each) every week; sign-ups are first-come, first-serve. We will have two guest judges each week who will help crown the night's Singer/Songwriter Challenge winner. The third vote comes from the audience - we will poll the crowd for its favorite performer.

 

Each weekly winner is invited to perform three songs the following week at no charge and will be entered into the ASG Quarterly Singer-Songwriter Challenge. The four quarterly champions will perform a concert in the round at the 2010 Annual Songwriters' Symposium.

 

Please bring a $5 donation to participate in the challenge. Everyone is encouraged to attend, participate, perform, or help judge!

 

The third quarterly challenge is scheduled for September 21, 2009.
